Contains 300 mg/mL procaine penicillin as a suspension for injection. To be used for the treatment of susceptible infections in horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, dogs and cats.
Available in 200 mL, 250 mL and 500 mL break-resistant vials, ready for injection.
As this product is a suspension, it requires shaking prior to use to completely resuspend the active ingredient.
Note: Performance horses and dogs may be subject to the rules of various regulatory bodies. Advice should be sought from the relevant regulator with regards to performance withholds.
Aid in the treatment of infections caused by penicillin sensitive organisms in horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, dogs and cats.
Shake well before use. Use the contents of the vial within 6 months of initial broaching and discard any unused portion. Propercillin should be given by intramuscular injection to large animals. Dogs may be injected by either the subcutaneous or intramuscular routes. Subcutaneous injection is advised in cats. The following dose rates are advised.
Horses, cattle. 12 mg/kg bodyweight (20 mL/500 kg), daily for three to five days. Pigs, sheep. 15 mg/kg (2 mL/40 kg), daily for three to five days. Dogs, cats. 30 mg/kg (1 mL/10 kg), daily for three to five days. Treatment duration should be established in consultation with a veterinarian. Repeat injections should be administered at a different site. The usual aseptic precautions should be taken when administering the injections.
Administration to animals that are known to be allergic to penicillin. This product should not be used when it is known that ?-lactamase producing bacteria are involved.
