Dogs. Musculoskeletal disorders. Give a single subcutaneous injection at a dosage of meloxicam 0.2 mg/kg bodyweight. Ilium Meloxicam Oral Suspension for Dogs should be used for continuation of treatment at a dosage of 0.1 mg/kg bodyweight, 24 hours after administration of injection. Postoperative pain. Give a single intravenous or subcutaneous injection at a dosage of meloxicam 0.2 mg/kg bodyweight before surgery.
Cats. Postoperative pain. Give a single subcutaneous injection at a dosage of meloxicam 0.3 mg/kg bodyweight immediately prior to induction of anaesthesia. Febrile conditions. Give a single subcutaneous injection at a dosage of meloxicam 0.3 mg/kg bodyweight.
Administration to pregnant or lactating animals, or animals suffering from gastrointestinal disorders such as irritation and haemorrhage, impaired hepatic, cardiac or renal function or haemorrhagic disorders, or when there is evidence of individual hypersensitivity to the product.
As is the case for all NSAIDs, administration to debilitated geriatric and animals under the age of 6 weeks must be carefully managed at the clinical level.
