Ilium OptichlorEye Ointment Actions Broad Spectrum activity against most Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and some large viruses. The product causes a rise in concentration of chloramphenicol in the fluids and tissues within the orbit, making it useful in the treatment of intraocular infections. It provides good penetration of the eye and its adnexa.
Indications Ocular and conjunctival infections due to susceptible organisms in dogs and cats.
Includes conjunctivitis, keratitis, blepharitis, infected meibonian glands, infected lachrimal sacs, prophylaxes post eye surgery.
Directions for use Dogs & Cats: Instill approximately 1cm strip into the conjunctival sac 2 - 3 times daily.
Presentation Ointment 5g.
Composition Chloramphenicol 10mg/g.
Contraindications Not for use in horses.
Precautions This product should only be used where there is no suitable alternative.
Withholding period Not to be used in food producing species of animals.
Storage Store below 30ºC (room temperature).
